Singing Bowl MeditationUnity Christ Center | 1808 Folsom Street 54703
Event DetailsSinging bowls have been used traditionally for centuries to assists in meditation, relaxation and healing. They provide a gentle, easy way to enter the present moment and breathe. While listening to singing bowls online or on a CD is helpful, it can't compare to being in their physical presence. This group meditation is divided into two 20 minute sessions with a 10 minute break in between. No previous experience with meditation is required. Please wear comfortable clothes and bring a mat or a cushion if you would like to meditate on the floor. A love offering is suggested.
Led by Mary Jackelen.
Mary is a Reiki III practitioner (Reiki is a gentle form of energy healing) and holds an Education Specialist degree in Counseling and Psychological Services. Mary grew up in a musical household. As a child, she discovered there was a huge harp inside her mother's piano. "I would spend hours tapping the strings, experimenting with how each note reverberated in my hands, head and chest and how wonderful it made me feel." The first time she heard a signing bowl used in meditation, she recognized right away what power it contained. "You could say I was hooked." Over the years, Mary has facilitated a variety of groups of all ages. For the past 5 years she has facilitated meditation groups for the UW-Stout community. She is trained in several styles of meditation including Transcendental Meditation.
